Breastfeeding advice

After the tongue tie release the baby needs time to get used to the new mobility of the tongue. Often in older babies there are tense musles from compensatory behaviour which needs to resolve. Check the FAQ about that. It’s a good idea to ask the lactation consultant IBCLC to help you with checking woundhealing/ aftercare and tongue training exercises and assisting transitioning to better latching and drinking at the breast. She can help with poisitioning at the breast, latching on and other issues that need to resolve due to a baby who had to drink with a tongue tie. Issues like low milk supply or plugged ducts, thrush, sometimes over supply, damaged nipples.
